VIDEO: 250 staff at Ørsted's Grimsby site work day in, day out to maintain and operate hundreds of offshore wind turbines off the UK coast

The UK's renewable energy industry is booming. Nearly a third of the UK's electricity now comes from renewable sources and clean energy's share of the power mix keeps on rising.

Around the British Isles offshore wind farms alone now produce more than six per cent of UK electricity - and this is set to grow significantly as new projects come online.

Energy giant Ørsted operates 11 offshore wind farms around the UK, generating enough power for 3.2 million UK homes. Another three are under construction.

At Ørsted's £10m wind hub in Grimsby, 250 staff work to maintain and support its hundreds of wind turbines in English waters.

BusinessGreen went to meet some of the staff in Grimsby, including technicians, control room support workers, and apprentices.
