VIDEO: Managing partner of global management consultancy speaks to BusinessGreen's James Murray about valuing nature in business

Sinead Magill is managing partner at global management consultancy Palladium.

Each year, Palladium runs a funding competition offering up a total of £1.5m pre-tax to innovative ideas that perhaps haven't been receiving support from other international organisations. And, in 2021, the firm has geared the competition towards valuing nature, and is looking for community-based, finance-driven ideas that aim to make it more economically productive to protect and restore - rather than damage - the natural world.

Ahead of BusinessGreen's upcoming Net Zero Nature summit later this month, Magill spoke to editor in chief James Murray about why the problem persists of the economy encouraging nature-destructive processes and business models - rather than supporting biodiversity and the environment - best practices companies can harness to shift towards nature-friendly operations, and the need for businesses to link their climate strategies with efforts to support nature. The conversation can be watched in full above.
