For most people, climate change is a pretty scary prospect. But is there also room for humour around the issue? And can comedy be used to help build awareness, compassion and even action with regards to environmental issues?

Comedian Stuart Goldsmith, who recently wrote and performed an hour-long show about climate change - taking in stints at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Soho Theatre in London - certainly believes so.

At BusinessGreen's recent Net Zero Festival 2023, broadcaster and journalist Charlene White sat down with Goldsmith for a humorous journey through his recent show, from the creative process to the audience response, shedding light on what inspired him to shift his comedic focus toward this crucial global issue. He shares his experiences with the challenges and joys of crafting jokes about the environment, offering insights into the power of humour in addressing the climate crisis.
